Unboxing the Archive: The story that I haven’t told

The workshop, divided into two sessions, investigate the concepts of memory and amnesia within the context of archival materials and personal narratives. By reflecting on their lived experiences, engaging in creative exercises, and delving into archive artworks and materials, participants explore the possibilities of using art to communicate what the archives can and cannot remember. The workshop will guide students to pay attention to research materials found in everyday life, as well as provide them with tools to critically evaluate the creative thinking process.

在工作坊中, 藝術家將會引導參與者從創意想像、身體律動和自我體察來連結身心狀態。透過連結身體經驗與感官記憶, 重新發現身體的獨特和自主性, 及與之連結的內在聲音, 探究身體、記憶與心靈的關係。
In this somatic workshop, the artist will guide the participants to connect the body and mind through creative imagination, movement exercise, and self-obversation. By connecting the body’s experience with one’s sensory memory, participants will rediscover the uniqueness of body-mind connection and the inner voice of it, exploring the relationship between the body, memory, and the mind.

In conjunction with the exhibition “mould the wing to match the photograph,” featuring the archive of Mrinalini Mukherjee, one of the most prominent sculptors in India, AAA invites three emerging Hong Kong artists, Tiff Chun, Ho Ming Yan, and Vivian Wong Wing Lam, to conduct creative workshops in response to the exhibition.
The two-session workshops designed by Vivian Wong investigate the concept of growth within the context of bodily experience, image creation, and documentation. Through creative activities and close readings of the artwork and archival materials, participants explore the connections between organic processes found in daily life and artistic expression.

Join us for a movement workshop exploring the dynamics of flow and play. Open to all levels, including complete beginners, this workshop draws inspiration from dance therapy’s focus on bodily awareness and non-verbal communication, as well as the playful dynamics of contact improvisation.

Led by artists who we love to see at BTD parties, they represent games that become art and the art that becomes games: how connecting to our bodies and letting go of fear and shame can lead to nimble fingers, quick poems, flying cards, and experimental movement.

透過觀察練習、創意及表達方式共學、拍攝及成品製作,藝術家將會帶領參與者探索觀察社區、藝術創作與自我發掘的交流可能性, 讓參與者使用身體和影像作為媒介, 反思個人生活經驗與社會的連繫和關係。 工作坊藉藝術創作教學, 將引導學生專注於日常生活中發現的研究材料,並以影像創作與社區產生更深入的連結。
Through observation exercises, collaborative learning on creativity and modes of expression, filming and the creation of final works, the artist will guide participants in exploring the potential for dialogue between observing the community, artistic creation and self-discovery, enabling participants to use the body and imagery as media to reflect on the connections and relationships between their personal life experiences and society. Through art education, the workshop will guide students to focus on research materials discovered in daily life, and to forge deeper connections with the community through visual creation.
Theatrical Education for Special Needs Children

Drama and theatrical education to children with special educational needs (SEN), ages 3–12. The programme uses creative drama, storytelling, movement, role-play, and ensemble activities to support self-expression, communication, emotional development, confidence, and social interaction in an inclusive and nurturing environment.
Each class is designed to celebrate every child’s unique strengths and imagination, encouraging creativity, collaboration, and joyful participation through the performing arts.
